Let me first tell you something about my background: Many years ago I played the recorder. Five years ago, when I moved to Helsinki, I started again to play an instrument, this time the clarinet with Jörg.
In these five years, I’ve learned extraordinarily much, which can be directly traced back to his excellent teaching skills and his mastery of the clarinet. He also knows a lot about the instrument itself, which is why you can expect a lot of useful tips for keeping your instrument in proper shape. His strong focus on the correct technique enables you to make not only rapid technical progress, but also to create such a tuneful sound that the listener believes you to much more experienced than you actually are!
Another important factor is the didactical aspect of the lessons. A technically excellent teacher doesn’t help if you are not being motivated and don’t like to attend lessons.
With Jörg, however, it’s always fun to attend lessons as he uses vivid examples to bring across his suggestions for improving your playing style. It’s also no problem with him if you had so much other things to do that you didn’t have time to practise sufficiently.
So, to sum it up, I always liked it very much to have lessons with him and can recommend him to anyone, who wishes to take clarinet lessons.
